Former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, is unhappy about how two people were treated differently after causing trouble at Nigerian airports.
One of them is a woman named Comfort Emmanson. She was on an Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos. She got into a fight with the airline staff. Videos showed her hitting the crew and arguing with airport workers. She was quickly arrested, taken to court, and sent to Kirikiri prison.
But a few days earlier, a famous musician, Wasiu Ayinde, also known as KWAM 1, did something dangerous at another airport. He wasn’t allowed to board a flight in Abuja because he was holding a drink that might have had alcohol. He got very angry and blocked a ValueJet plane from moving. Videos showed him standing in front of the plane, and the pilot had to drive off without permission to avoid hitting him.
Many people were shocked and called for the musician to be punished. He later apologized for what he did, but he has not been arrested or charged like Comfort.
Peter Obi says this is not fair. He thinks the government is treating powerful people differently from regular citizens. He apologized to the airline staff hurt by Comfort’s actions but said she should not have been stripped or treated badly before her trial.
He also said it’s wrong that Comfort is in jail while KWAM 1, who risked many lives, is still free. Obi believes everyone should be treated the same, no matter how famous or rich they are.
He ended by saying justice should not depend on who you are or who you know.
